Manchester and London Investment Trust

Manchester and London Investment Trust plc ("MLIT" or the "Trust") is an award winning investment trust with a portfolio of investments, principally quoted on the London Stock Exchange.

The Trust, through its Investment Manager, Midas Investment Management Ltd ("Midas"), has the principle objective of achieving capital appreciation, together with a reasonable level of income, through taking a global perspective on investing.

Over the past 3 years the Trust has outperformed the FTSE All Share index by 7.8 per cent (as at 31 March 2010) and currently has net assets of approximately £66.5 million.

Benefiting from a flexible investment style, this allows MLIT to deliver superior performance in constantly changing market conditions, for example the conversion of its net assets to cash during 'bear' markets. Furthermore, the Trust also offers exposure to emerging markets, with over 50 per cent of its portfolio invested in 'global-play' assets.

The Board and Investment Manager adopt a policy permitting investment in any particular sector of the stock market in both the UK and overseas and the current portfolio includes both UK and overseas equities, together with property shares and money market deposits.

Overall, the aim of MLIT is to be a performer over 3 year cycles not short-term cycles and the average holding period for a stock in the portfolio is approximately 27 months.
